Primarily known for providing affordable housing, the non-profit Govans Ecumenical Development Corporation (GEDCO) also operates CARES (Civic and Religious Emergency Services), a food pantry and emergency financial assistance center that responds to more than 5,000 visits annually from community members seeking food, advocacy, and emergency financial assistance for utility bills, eviction prevention and prescriptions.

FTLA is pleased to support GEDCO CARES this June by funding vouchers for families in need that will allow them to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from local markets, thereby promoting sustainable and healthier eating while also supporting local farms
