Scott Huot

Scott comes to FTLA with fourteen years of experience as a landscape architect.  A graduate of the University of Connecticut with professional licensing in Maryland, Scott brings experience and expertise in landscape master planning.  Past projects populating his resume include master planning for downtown streetscapes, K through 12 schools, college campuses, senior living communities, and urban parks.

“When I’m designing,” Scott says, “I put myself in the role of the resident and imagine the type of place where I’d enjoy walking and living.  This means not only fulfilling program requirements but also designing a lively and livable community that blends with the communities that were already there.”  Scott also thinks that one important role for landscape architects is acting as liaison between architect and civil engineer.  “Placing a building always has aesthetic and functional implications,” he says.  “Getting it right, making adjustments that the architect and civil engineer agree on, that’s very satisfying.”
